PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR
Shubman Gill looked comfortable in his debut Test. The right-hander was at ease from the very first delivery and also managed to take the attack to the Aussie bowlers at will. Gill scored 45 and 35* in the Boxing Day Test and at Sydney where the pitch in conducive to bat on, the aggressive opener can be the player to watch out for.
Ravichandran Ashwin has picked 10 wickets in the Test series so far. His figures so far in the series – 2/71, 3/35, 1/16 and 4/55. The off-spinner has looked in magical rhythm and has dismissed Steve Smith, who is touted to be the best Test batsman of this generation, thrice in four innings.
Pat Cummins is the world’s leading Test bowler and he’s been in spectacular form so far this summer. Immaculate length, over 140 kmph and moving the ball laterally. Cummins can manufacture plenty off of the wicket. His figures so far – 1/22, 2/80, 4/21 & 3/48. Pat Cummins is a genuine match-winner and he’ll be a player to keep a keen eye on.
