India vs South Africa 3rd T20I: With their eyes set on sealing the first-ever T20I series against the Proteas in the home-ground, India will look to give it all in the series decider against South Africa. The men in blue will play against South Africa in the final match of the T20 series, in Bengaluru.
With the first T20 clash getting washed out at Dharmasala, it was Deepak Chahar and Virat Kohli who came to the rescue in the second match. It was the duo’s valiant efforts that got the home team register their first win ever against South Africa, in India. India won the match by 7 wickets, while captain Virat Kohli was adjudged the Man of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 72 (52). Well, India at this stage look inevitable, and they are rightly poised to lift yet another trophy in this tournament.
EYES SET ON QUINTON
South Africa, on the other hand, have a lot of things to be focussed on. With Quinton de Kock temporarily taking over the reins from Faf du Plessis, he will be hoping to make the most of it and take the team to victory. While a win here will level the series against India, it is certainly going to be a daunting task for the proteas, to overpower the Indian side, which is already brimming with confidence.
India generally remains tight-lipped about their playing XI and will not give any indications of who will join the bandwagon and don the blue jersey. However, these are testing times for the team members, as they could experiment with a few in this match. With the World T20 around the corner, India, who are also the top contenders to lift the trophy, will leave no stone unturned to identify their best XI.
South Africa, on the other hand, have still not been able to come back to their fierce-self, ever since the departure of AB de Villiers. Also, with their regular captain, Faf du Plessis missing out on the tour, the team certainly lacks an experienced middle-order strength, which could support the team in taking them to a competitive total. They will look to identify and fill that void, hopefully, before the World T20.

- Since 2018, legspinners have been most successful at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, who contributed to a total of 34 wickets in 15 innings.
- South Africa captain, Quinton de Kock has had a great run in this ground, with an aggregate score of 384 runs in his 10 T20 appearances. This also included 2 half-centuries and 1 century.
PITCH AND CONDITIONS
M Chinnaswamy Stadium has always been a batsman’s paradise. It has been home to some very high-scoring games. Bowlers have been at the mercy of the batsmen; a slight miss in the line and length and the ball would be launched into the stands. Six T20Is have been played at this ground and four were won by the team chasing the score. The weather is a cause of worry and is threatening the chances of the game tomorrow. Weather forecasts predict the chance of a shower during the course of the game. However, unlike the long showers during the first match at Dharamsala, rains might not wash away the complete game, but might just claim a few overs.
India could consider making few changes to its side, based on the learnings from their last game. Washington Sundar may make way for Rahul Chahar. KL Rahul may be left out of the playing side owing to the strong form of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli. Rishabh Pant’s form has been a topic of worry for the side. His form has been inconsistent, especially in international games.
In the bowling department, Deepak Chahar has been in great form and has provided India with the necessary breakthroughs whenever required. Saini, Jadeja and Hardik have supported the former well. Krunal Pandya was awarded just an over, hence it will be interesting to see if he is trusted with the ball for a longer duration in the upcoming game.
Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (C), Rishabh Pant (wk), Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar/Rahul Chahar, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini
The Proteas may consider swapping Anrich Nortje for bringing in Beuran Hendricks to the side. Nortje was very expensive in the previous game, and hence it may be a wise choice to rest him for the upcoming game. It will be interesting to see if the team makes way for George Linde, who is a good bowler and also comes with the prowess to hit the ball out of the park. The team will look upto the spin-duo of Bjorn Fortuin and Tabraiz Shamsi to continue their good performances.
Rabada has been good with his economy, however, he will need to step up his game and win some wickets for his side. De Kock has been in a great form and will come in very motivated into this game. his last performance of 52 off 37 balls has been a positive sign for his team. Van der Dussen and Miller have done just the basic job and their team will hope that they step up and deliver in the upcoming game.
Reeza Hendricks, Quinton de Kock (C & WK), Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius/George Linde, Andile Phehlukwayo, Bjorn Fortuin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje/Beuran Hendricks, Tabraiz Shamsi
