CSK have always kept the core of the team intact. Until 2015, MS Dhoni, R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Suresh Raina were their star players and the whole revolved around them meticulously.

This year with the majority of the players under the hammer, CSK were forced to tinker with their team combination. They’ve managed to get some fine cricketers but can CSK be as consistent as they were before going defunct? Who’s going to strike gold for them? Let’s go through the list.

5 KEY PLAYERS FOR CSK IN IPL 2018

1. MS Dhoni

In the Indian Premier League MS Dhoni has captained a franchise(CSK and RPS) in 143 games. He’s won 83 and lost only 59. A 58.04 winning percentage. His ability to read games has always helped his teams stay one step ahead of the opponents. As far as batting prowess is concerned his numbers speak volumes about his ability. 3560 runs in 159 matches at 136.71 runs per hundred balls. Cometh the hour cometh the captain is one phrase MS Dhoni has gotten used to. He’ll be CSK’s, main man.

2. Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina is to IPL what Cristiano Ronaldo is to the Champions League. The southpaw seems to hit another gear when it comes to the Indian Premier League. Raina’s inclusion in the recent tour to South Africa for the T20Is must have boosted his confidence. Raina is the leading run-getter in the IPL. 4540 runs in 161 games with a heavy strike-rate of 139.09. He’ll be the man to watch out for.

3. Dwayne Bravo

Bravo has played almost every T20 league in the world and has done exceptionally well in all of them. An all-rounder par excellence, the name needs no introduction. Ever since he was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings, the crowd has found a liking towards him. Crucial innings with the bat, extremely tense death over bowling and athletic fielding, Bravo has mastered all three departments. He’ll be an integral cog in the CSK unit.

For the year 2018, the Chennai Super Kings signed him for Rs. 4,00,00,000. Watson’s quality with both bat and bowl makes him a key man in the Chennai squad. His ability to clear any ground in the world makes him an ominous contender. For the talent he possesses, he must have played for the Indian tri-colour more often. His stats in the IPL are decent, but this year he’s looked in fine form with the bat and is likely to change things around. Rayudu was acquired for Rs. 2,20,00,000.
