CSK vs SRH Finals: After 59 nerve-wracking games, the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League has its finalists. CSK vs SRH finals of the IPL will be played at the Wankhede Stadium. The winner of this year’s IPL will win a total of Rs. 20 crores while the runners-up are assured a prize money of Rs. 12.5 crores. CSK and SRH have played each other 3 times this IPL and the men in yellow have won all 3. The most recent one being the Qualifier1, where Faf Du Plessis switched on the god mode. The MS Dhoni-led side will play their 7th IPL finals while the orange army are all set to win their 2nd IPL title.
CHENNAI HAVE MADE THIS A HABIT
CSK will rank the best team in T20 franchise cricket by a distance. They have a captain who can absolutely do anything. CSK have been super consistent every year and sometimes you feel, “Is this team real?”. Not many had considered Chennai front-runners for the title this year but this is MS Dhoni we’re dealing with. A skipper par excellence, a cricketer way ahead of his time and certainly one of the sharpest readers of the game. Sometimes, all you’ve got to do is, bow down and appreciate.
Dhoni’s scored runs in a heap this year. Easily the best season with the bat for this rockstar. He’s scored 455 runs in 15 games. Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu and Dhoni have been the major contributors with the bat. They also have the likes of Du Plessis and Suresh Raina to take the attack to the opposition. How can Hyderabad beat CSK? Do they even stand a chance? T20’s are as unpredictable a format can get and there’s a strong reason why the IPL is considered the best vs best. CSK vs SRH finals of IPL 2018 promises to be a humdinger.
RASHID KHAN YOU BEAUTY
Afghanistan have huge reasons to be extremely pleased about this year. One being their confirmed status as a test playing nation and two, because the legend of Rashid Khan gets better every year. Hyderabad have to thank the Afghani sensation and the 9 crores rupees SRH spent on this quality wrist spinner now seems an absolute steal. SRH topped the league table after 14 games but after a 6-game winning streak, there was a gloomy 4-match stint where Kane Williamson and Co. finished second best. It was time for SRHs genuine match winners to step up and who better than the 19-year-old star. SRH have relied heavily on their bowlers. Although Khan and Siddarth Kaul rank 2 & 3 on the wicket-takers’ list with 21 wickets apiece, SRHs journey hasn’t been the smoothest.
Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan have been the two heavy run-getters and against a sturdy CSK, the middle-order needs a hit, out in the middle. More so, if they manage to do the bulk of the scoring, it’ll be a massive plus. Can SRH take the coveted title home?
Overall – Matches played: 9, Chennai Super Kings – 7, SunRisers Hyderabad -2
In 2018 – Matches played: 3, Chennai Super Kings – 3, SunRisers Hyderabad -0
This has been one of the best IPL seasons as far as the quality of cricket is concerned. SRH have done most things right but against CSK, their vulnerabilities aren’t hidden. This is the final fixture and there’s a lot at stake. Can SRH hit a home run when it matters most?
CSK are likely to field the same eleven. Harbhajan Singh who didn’t bowl in the last game will have a prominent role in this title-decider.
There’s a lot to ponder about for the Tom Moody-managed side. Should Deepak Hooda be persisted with or will the lacklustre Manish Pandey be brought back in to the squad? Sandeep Sharma missed out the second qualifier but he’s likely to be picked in the starting eleven
