IPL 2018 | MATCH 27 | CSK vs MI | FANFIGHT PREVIEW

IPL 2018 | MATCH 27 | CSK vs MI | FANFIGHT PREVIEW

CSK vs MI: Oh Captain! My captain! MS Dhoni has revived himself at the biggest stages of them all. Not that he’d lost any of his batting abilities, but there was an intangible scepticism hovering over his overburdened shoulders. He’s dusted all of it nonchalantly as CSK find themselves yet again at the top of the ladder. The men in yellow have made winning in the final overs a habit. The team seems to have hit a fine combination and against a hapless MI, CSK will have their tails up. CSK vs MI IPL 2018, the clash of the Titans is all in readiness to kick-off on the 28th of April.

MI are struggling. They’ve won only one out of six and are one above the bottom-placed DD. In the previous game against SRH, the defending champions took an absolute beating. The Rohit Sharma led squad were bundled out for a mere 87, their lowest ever total in IPL. MI now have a massive mountain to scale where landslides are very common. Can Mumbai qualify for the playoffs? Mathematically they’re not out yet, but they have to win every game hereafter.

TEAM NEWS

Both teams are likely to remain unchanged for this fixture. The team needs no change in personnel but a change in the batting order might change Mumbai’s fortune.

EXPECTED PLAYING 11

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni(c/wk), Sam Billings, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir, Shardul Thakur.

MUMBAI INDIANS

Evin Lewis, Surya Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan(wk), Rohit Sharma(c), Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Mayank Markande, Jasprit Bumrah, Mustafizur Rahman.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

REMARKABLE RAINA

Suresh Raina is IPL’s most prolific run-getter and this season his form hasn’t hit cruise control. The left-handed one drop batsman has piled up 4669 runs in 166 games. Raina’s 54* and 46 against SRH & RR respectively did show us what Raina’s is capable of, but he’s a million times better. If Raina starts scoring there’ll be no stopping CSK. Their top order is already going great guns with Ambati Rayudu, Shane Watson, MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo scoring quick-fire runs. Can MI stop the Chennai juggernaut? Moreso, can Mumbai stop Suresh Raina?

NOTE: Raina has scored 624 runs against MI in the IPL. The most in CSK vs MI fixtures.

SPLENDID SHARMA

If you’re a Rohit Sharma fan, you’ll probably have the most topsy-turvy run of emotions. If Rohit scores, there’s no batsman who can cream the ball like he does. His 94 against RCB was one glimpse and in the 50-over format, he’s done it time and again. Mumbai at this hour, need his services to a redemptive requirement. Can he do what he knows/does best? Or can Chennai’s dexterity prove too much for him to handle?

Rohit Sharma is the 3rd highest run-getter in the IPL. His 4347 runs have come in 165 matches at an average of 32.20. His strike-rate, a decent 131.09. Sharma can tonk the white cherry to all corners of the park. The big question though? Where will he bat?

1 – Test Cricket
2 – List A
2 – CLT20
3 – T20I Cricket
4 –  IPL
9 – ODI Cricket.

Mustafizur Rahman has dismissed Ravindra Jadeja 4 times. Jadeja has scored 16 runs off 18 deliveries against Rahman.

WHO WILL WIN CSK vs MI?

CSK are a tough team to beat when things work perfectly for them and this IPL the men in yellow are in red-hot form. CSK are verily going to qualify for the playoffs and in MS Dhoni they have a leader who’ll never let complacency settle in the dressing room. Mumbai have some world class players in their squad but against the Chennai legion, the defending champions find themselves in a spot of bother. For the clash of the champions, CSK vs MI, CSK are the favourites.

Well, this is white ball cricket we’re talking about and both are quality players. In the shortest format, you just need a hit to get back to form. Raina and Rohit have proved their quality over the years and they’ve come good when the team needed them most. Let’s wait and watch how they perform. Again, this is our opinion we’re putting forward. If you don’t think they’ll score you can always choose other players 🙂
