IPL 2018 | MATCH 42 | DD vs SRH | FANFIGHT | FANTASY CRICKET PREVIEW

DD vs SRH: The SRH bowlers can defend the earth from a meteorite at the current moment. The Kane Williamson led side in the IPL have been in exceptional form, especially with the ball. SunRisers Hyderabad are currently the league leaders with 16 points after 10 games. They’ve already qualified for the playoffs but the task here would be to maintain this staggering run. The orange army would like to finish either 1st or 2nd after the league games are wrapped up. The likes of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma and Rashid Khan have been the match winners for them. When the bowling unit works in tandem and works effectively, the team is bound to hover around the top spot. DD vs SRH is going to bey yet another humdinger. Can Delhi retaliate dynamically?

A MUST WIN GAME FOR DELHI

If SRH are at the highest point on the Everest, DD are placed at the foot of the mountain. After 10 rounds, the Daredevils are placed at number 8, having registered only 3 wins. What has gone wrong for them? Rishab Pant and Shreyas Iyer have been scoring runs heavily but it’s the middle order that has let them down. Glenn Maxwell has had his worst IPL so far. Chris Morris’ injury was a huge letdown. Since then, DD have struggled to find an all-rounder who can tonk the ball. Also, the bowlers haven’t been consistent whatsoever. Trent Boult has been the only positive in a rather sluggish looking bowling attack.

TEAM NEWS

SRH are expected to remain unchanged. They’ve already qualified for the playoffs but would want to finish the league stage on a high. If they are willing to change their combination, someone like a Khaleel Ahmed/Basil Thampi might get an opportunity.

DD have a lot of errors to contemplate about. Glenn Maxwell’s form hasn’t been the brightest. Colin Munro wouldn’t be a bad addition to the squad. Avesh Khan has proved to be expensive in his last two games. If Mohammad Shami is declared fit, he’ll take Khan’s place.

Naman Ojha was added to the squad in their previous game against SRH, he’s likely to make way for Rahul Tewatia.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

1. RISHAB PANT

Pant has been DD’s main man this season. The 19-year-old southpaw has scored 393 runs in 10 innings averaging 39.3 and has been pummeling 173.12 runs per hundred balls. His unorthodox batting style makes him a tough opponent to bowl at. Pant has hit 20 sixes so far, most of them in the midwicket region. Fast hands and a golf-esque swing make him a player to keep an eye on.

He’s valued at 9.1 credits on FanFight and can be your match winner.

2. SHREYAS IYER

Ever since he’s taken up the onus of captaining his franchise, Iyer has hit a purple patch. He’s scored 93*, 13, 50 & 44 in the games he’s led. He’s won 2 and lost 2 as a skipper and his tally for this year’s IPL is 351. Iyer’s average this season is 50.14 and he’s been striking the ball at 149.36.

He’s a viable option and also because he scores a lot of sixes, he’ll be a perfect fit in your FanFight fantasy cricket team. Iyer on FanFight is valued at 8.2 credits.

3. TRENT BOULT

Let’s name him ‘The Flying Kiwi’. Trent Boult has been DD’s best bowler this season. He’s picked 13 wickets in 10 games at 25.38. His economy is slightly on the higher side. Moreso, because he bowls the most crucial overs of the game. Hand him the new ball and he’s bound to get wickets. Boult will be the bowler to watch out for. If SRH manage to negate his impact they’ll be posting up a massive score.

Boult costs only 8.2 credits on FanFight. He’s a nifty option.

4. KANE WILLIAMSON

Hyderabad’s captain is 3rd on the list of the highest run-getters this season. He’s scored 410 runs at 51.25. Williamson oozes class. The cover drives, the backfoot punches and the cuts he manufactures are of the purest form. He’s played the anchor sheet role to perfection and against DD, SRH will need a similar effort from their captain marvel.

For the number of runs he scores 9.1 credits seems a bargain.

5. SHAKIB-AL-HASAN

Shakib has been a crucial addition to the SRH squad this season. He’s scored 158 runs in 10 matches so far and averages 22.57. Although Shakib hasn’t fired with the bat like the way we know, the next games will be extremely important for him to regain his optimum touch. Shakib has also picked 10 wickets this season. Although he bowls in the powerplay, Shakib has maintained a miserly economy-rate of 7.55.

On FanFight at 8.2 credits, he’s a must-have.

6. SIDDARTH KAUL

Kaul after 10 years of winning the U-19 WC has finally made it to the Indian ODI and T20I squad. The selection after splendid performances in this year’s IPL. Kaul in the previous game against RCB defended 12 runs of the last over. He’s mastered the art of bowling the knuckleball and the yorker. Kaul also bowls a heavy ball. He consistently hits the 145kmph mark and will be a player to watch out. So far in this year’s IPL, Kaul has picked 13 wickets in 10 matches. There’s more to come from this young speedster.

Kaul is valued at 7.7 credits on FanFight. That’s a bargain of the highest order. He’s got to feature in your FanFight fantasy team for DD vs SRH.

DID YOU KNOW?

Sandeep Sharma’s economy-rate in this year’s IPL is 5.26. The best in the 10 completed rounds.

Rashid Khan has bowled 99 dot balls in IPL 2018. He’s 2nd on the list only 4 adrift of Umesh Yadav.

DD have lost the most number of games in the Indian Premier League. They’ve played 157 games, won 65 and have lost 90. RCB have lost 84 and Kings XI 82.

Rishab Pant is only 43 runs away from reaching the 1,000 run mark in IPL. He’ll be the youngest to reach that feat.
