IPL 2018 | MATCH 51 | RCB vs SRH | FANFIGHT | FANTASY CRICKET PREVIEW

RCB vs SRH: The IPL has reached its final stages and not one bit of the intense action it was envisaged to produce has lessened. SRH and CSK have already made it to the playoffs while for the remaining two spots, 5 teams are battling it out. RCB were down and out after 10 games but they’ve managed to sneak back in contention with two wins in two. They chased down 182 against DD with the utmost of ease and steamrolled KXIP. The bowling was spot on, the fielders did their bit and the opening duo of Parthiv Patel and Kohli saw them through. A perfect result for RCB, but they’d want to stay focused against the best bowling attack in the league. RCB vs SRH is a must-win game for the Virat Kohli-led side whereas, for the Sunrisers, a win here will get them back to winning ways.

DID THE SUNRISERS PEAK WAY TOO SOON?

This season the orange army has produced some magical cricket. The bowling unit can’t be questioned whatsoever. The fielding has been of the highest quality and the batters have responded ably to whatever situation they’ve been put in to. It’s been more or less a dream season for SRH. However, the last two games were enough to dig out minute vulnerabilities. SRH conceded 187 and 180 in their previous encounters. Also, 3 off the 4 centuries in this year’s IPL have been scored against SRH. While the tournament has almost reached its last phase, there’s a lot to expect from this bunch of cricketers. Can the likes of Manish Pandey and Alex Hales come good at this crucial stage? Fasten your seatbelts for RCB vs SRH, the 51st fixture of the IPL.

In the reverse fixture between the two sides earlier this month, SRH yielded a positive result. This, after RCB, restricted SRH to a mere 145. Siddarth Kaul and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar guided SRH home as they won that fixture by 5 runs.

PITCH CONDITIONS

Out of the 50 complete IPL games, 22 games have been won by the team batting first and 28 by the chasing team. Chinnaswamy has always been a placid track to bat on. 182 has been the average 1st innings score on this wicket this year. But, how much is actually enough? At one end you’ve got the sturdiest bowling attack in the league and on the other, two batsmen who can change the course of a game in a jiffy. SRH haven’t done well on 180-190 wickets and it’ll be interesting to see how they retaliate after two bad games. To put it differently, RCB vs SRH will be a rollercoaster ride. Win the toss and bowl first on this wicket.

TEAM NEWS

From the SRH dugout, there was an apparent news on the improved fitness of Wriddhiman Saha. But will the wicket-keeper batter walk in straight away or will he wait to gain 100% fitness? If he’s fit, it’s a no-brainer.

RCB have won the last two games with a finely settled combination and are likely to field the same eleven.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

KING KOHLI

Every time Kohli gets a start RCB win. In the games they’ve won, Kohli has scored 30+ four times. He is undoubtedly one of the most complete batters in the game today. You won’t see him playing the audacious reverse hit or the scoop or some other fancy stroke. He goes by the coaching manual, plays in the ‘V’ and makes batting look ridiculously easy. Kohli is a modern master and his hunger to get better every game has taken him levels above the rest.

Against SRH, Kohli’s scored 473 runs at 59.1 and has a strike-rate of 145.1.
In IPL 2018 – Matches: 12, Runs: 514, Average: 57.11, Strike-rate: 142.38

On FanFight, Kohli is valued at 10 credits. The ball seems to find the middle of his blade almost by default. He’s certain to score runs and is a must-have player for your fantasy team.

AB De Villiers has taken the SRH bowlers to the cleaners. He’s scored 380 runs off 219 balls against them, striking at 173.9. De Villiers is valued in at 9.6. To include both Kohli and De Villiers would be a tough ask. For RCB vs SRH, match number 51, let’s go with Virat Kohli.

SCINTILLATING SHIKHAR

Shikhar Dhawan has been an integral part of this SRH set-up. When it comes to crunch games, Dhawan has always stepped up. He’s now the second highest run-getter for SRH and his last two innings have proven mighty effective for the orange army. Scores of 92* against DD and 79 versus CSK make him an obvious pick.

AT CHINNASWAMY –  Dhawan has scored 246 runs in 8 T20 innings at 49.2
IPL 2018 – Matches: 11, Runs: 369, Average: 46.12, Strike-rate: 142.47

Another handy pick would be Kane Williamson. On FanFight, Dhawan and Williamson both are priced at 9.1 credits. In a small ground, boundary scoring will also help you score better. Dhawan then would be a clear favourite.

DID YOU KNOW?

Sandeep Sharma has the best economy-rate this season. Sharma and Sodhi concede less than 6 per-over this season. They currently operate at 5.83 and 5.93 runs per over. Sandeep has also dismissed Kohli 5 times in 8 innings. Kohli vs Sharma is going to an intense battle. No pun intended!

Kohli needs only 68 runs to reach the 5,000 run mark in IPL cricket. He’ll be the first to scale that feat.

Umesh Yadav has bowled the most number of dot balls this IPL. He’s bowled 126 dot balls in 45.1 overs. He’s also third on the list of the wickets tally with 17 wickets in 13 games.
