IPL 2018 | MATCH 8 | RCB vs KXIP | FANFIGHT PREVIEW

RCB vs KXIP: The Royal Challengers Bangalore had a horror season last year; a far cry from the 2016 season where they finished runners-up. This season though, the revamped team seems perfectly balanced. The acquisition of experienced stars and the introduction of refined domestic players makes them a unit to watch out for. However, the first game didn’t pan out as planned. A 4-wicket loss to KKR in the 3rd game of the IPL. Courtesy, a marauding onslaught from Sunil Narine and a clinical finish from skipper Dinesh Karthik. The Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, cruised past Delhi Daredevils. KL Rahul the major destructor there. Rahul went on to score a fifty off 14 deliveries, the fastest ever in IPL cricket. The action moves to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium for the 8th IPL game, RCB vs KXIP.

There’s not much tweaking to do with the KXIP side. The only change might be Aaron Finch’s inclusion for David Miller.

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

RAHUL 2.0

KL Rahul in the first T20 displayed his entire batting repertoire. The right-hander from Karnataka is easily one of the most talented batsmen in the country and against DD, Rahul just showed us how graceful a batsman he is. An innings full of masterly strokes comprised of 6 hits along the carpet and 4 over the ropes.

Rahul’s balls per boundary ratio is 6.79. In the 30 innings he’s batted in Rahul averages a decent 30.21 and strikes at 125.65 runs per hundred balls. Those numbers aren’t even close to justifying his potential. Watch out for KL Rahul. He’s the player to watch out not only for this fixture but for the entire tournament.

THE WRISTY GENIUS

Yuzvendra Chahal has to be RCB’s unsung hero. The majority of the prominence is dominated by Kohli and De Villiers. Chahal has always worked under the radar and has been a star performer. Chahal has already picked 70 wickets in 57 matches at an economy rate of 7.93. He’s been Kohli’s go-to bowler and doesn’t shy away in giving the ball some generous flight. Chahal is the player to watch out for and he’s got all the potential to change the game, all on his own.

WHO WILL WIN RCB vs KXIP?

After taking DD to the cleaners, KXIP will be a team full of confidence. But, an away game can always test the best of squads. KXIP look ominous and with the likes of KL Rahul and Karun Nair being Karnataka boys the conditions won’t seem alien after all. RCB have a scholarly batting line-up but in KXIP they have a confident unit and in T20s momentum can play a huge positive. For the 8th IPL fixture, RCB vs KXIP, it’s advantage KXIP.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman on 8th April 2018 became the youngest cricketer to play the IPL at 17 years and 11 days.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have the highest and the lowest team scores in the IPL. The highest: 263/5 against Pune Warriors India, Lowest: 49 all-out against KKR.
