IPL 2020 Postponed: The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League has been postponed to the 15th of April. The decision was taken by the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, secretary Amit Shah after the state boards expressed their concerns. The 1st fixture of the IPL 2020 was scheduled on the 29th of March between CSK & Mumbai but a decision to postpone it was taken after the Coronavirus threat. The BCCI confirmed the development through a media release Friday afternoon stating it was “suspending” the IPL until April 15 as a “precautionary measure” against the coronavirus.
High profile sporting events like the UEFA Champions League, F1, ATP & NBA were also cancelled after the WHO declared the COVID-19 a pandemic.
