IRELAND vs INDIA | 1st T20I | FANTASY CRICKET PREVIEW | FANFIGHT

Ireland vs India: Only a couple of months earlier were Ireland listed as the 11th full member and their test against Pakistan was a clear indication why they’ve made it to the elite list. India are touring Ireland for two T20 internationals and they’ve got a massive opportunity to take down one of the best sides in international cricket. The margin between two sides decreases as the format of the game shortens. Ireland vs India will be the first time Malahide will be hosting two full members and it promises to be a cracking game. India are certainly the favourites but the 20-over format never seizes to amaze and an Ireland win wouldn’t be counted as an upset. Or will it? Fantasy Cricket tips, match preview and stats are drafted here.

PITCH CONDITIONS

The wicket is expected to batting friendly and with the quality batters in both line-ups, a heavy scoring game is almost assured. The dimensions of the Malahide aren’t the biggest. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Paul Stirling, Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni will verily target the shorter boundaries.

Fact: The ground can hold a capacity of 11,500 and is Ireland’s biggest cricket venue.

TEAM NEWS

Joshua Little will be a part of the playing eleven. The 18-year-old had an impressive World Cup and is known for his sharp pace.

Kuldeep Yadav & Yuzvendra Chahal have been regulars in the Indian T20 squad but will they prove to be effective in Ireland. Umesh Yadav is likely to replace one of the spinners.

KL Rahul was in red-hot form in the IPL and looked in fine knick against the Afghans in the white uniform. He’s likely to bat at number 4.

EXPECTED PLAYING 11

Gary Wilson (c), Andrew Balbirnie, George Dockrell, Joshua Little, Kevin O’Brien, William Porterfield, Stuart Poynter, Boyd Rankin, Simi Singh, Paul Stirling, Stuart Thompson.

INDIA

PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR

KL RAHUL

There are very few players in world cricket who can time the ball as sweetly as KL Rahul does. He’s also got the ability to use the long handle effectively and at will. In the IPL KL Rahul finished 3rd on the list of highest run-getters. He scored 659 runs at 54.91 and smashed them at 158 runs per hundred balls. There are likely contenders in Suresh Raina & Manish Pandey who can be given a look but Rahul will walk into the squad and will the man to watch out for.

KEVIN O’BRIEN

Kevin O’Brien has played 63 T20Is for Ireland and is their most destructive batter. The powerful right-handed batsman has the ability to give the white Kookaburra a mighty tonk and he’ll be the player to keep an eye on. His strike-rate in T20Is in a mere 119 but he’ll have the onus of scoring quickfire runs for Ireland. His century in their first ever test will also be a huge confidence booster. India have to bowl the middle overs with precision and a lot of wits.
