JAM vs TRI: After a shocking defeat in the hands of St. Lucia Zouks back on Saturday, the Jamaican Tallawahs will be looking to make a strong comeback in the season. The Tallawahs, after scoring a magnificent 241/4, which included a spectacular century by the Universal Boss failed to defend the total. The pressure will be mounting on them, as they face the defending champions, the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR).
The TKR are currently on a winning streak, having remained unbeaten in the tournament so far. They certainly are playing like champions and are sending shivers down the spine of their opponents. However, all their wins have come at their home ground and the champion team will be keen to open their winning account in the away-games as well. The Knight Riders look like a complete team, with match-winning representations coming in from all departments of the team. While bowlers took the centre-stage in their opening match, the batsmen took the onus upon themselves in the next matches. Well, at this momentum, the team looks inevitable.
JAMAICA YET TO GET OFF THE MARK
The Jamaica Tallawahs, on the other hand, have had a complete contradicting campaign so far, after going winless in the three matches played. With this, the Jamaican team has hardly any margin for error, and they have no option but to win the upcoming matches, in order to keep their hopes alive. The Tallawahs are a deadly batting side, with the likes of Chadwick Walton, Chris Gayle, Glenn Phillips and Rovman Powell. They can literally crush the opponents with such a batting prowess. However, it is their bowling that haunts them and has been a major obstacle for winning. Also, with Andre Russel being stretchered off after he was hit on the head, the team looks further in pain.
However, the history for the Knight Riders speaks a different story altogether, as they have lost 3 out of 4 games in Jamaica in Kingston. Well, the Jamaica Tallawahs could seek some motivation with that. Having said that, it is going to be a herculean task for the Tallawahs to put breaks to the fast-moving Knight Riders’ brigade.

The weather looks clear and much better than what it was on Thursday. There is a slight chance of drizzle in the afternoon, but that would not hamper the play of the match. The temperatures are expected to be high and there is going to be a full 40-over match on display.
This is a pure batsman’s paradise and the scores are expected to go sky-high. Well, even if we consider the average, the team batting first could score anywhere between 175-180. However, with both the teams having great depth in batting, we can add another 15-20 runs to the board, to the estimated average. Leaving aside the Saturday’s match, it is going to be a difficult game for the team batting second and chasing the target.
AVERAGE FIRST INNINGS SCORE: 175-180
Chasing teams: Won – 4, Lost – 3
Jamaica suffered a major setback with Andre Russel being sent off the field while batting. The swashbuckling batsman will most-likely miss the match against Knight Riders. While one player is out with an injury, another player has recovered fully and has been cleared to play the match, as Darren Bravo is deemed fit. As far as the line-up for TKR is concerned, Colin Munro will be replacing Lendl Simmons in the squad.
