KKR vs CSK | Match 29 | IPL 2019 | FanFight Fantasy Cricket Preview | Defending Champions take on the Powerful Knights

KKR vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings are undoubtedly the best team ever in the Indian Premier League. Technically they’re only one win away from making it to the playoffs. Yet again. From a position of utter dismay(24/4), the yellow brigade went on to win(chased 152) the game against the Rajasthan Royals. MS Dhoni’s ageing like fine wine. At 37, he’s able to smash sixes at will, run 2’s & 3’s like a sprinter & his reflexes are as sharp as “The Flash”. Ambati Rayudu seemed out of sorts until the previous game but he fought it out in the middle & scored a pugnacious 50. Ravindra Jadeja & Mitchell Santner can strike them big & the bowling unit has been doing what they do best. Chennai are an unstoppable force & only the Knight Riders have the firepower to compete against Dhoni’s legion.

Kolkata Knight Riders have won 4 games out of 7. They’ve been in fine form throughout the league but their frailties were exposed in the last game. When the Delhi boys got going, the Knights didn’t have an answer. Without Chris Lynn & Sunil Narine, the opening stand didn’t shine. Narine’s variations test the best in the world & his absence was felt in KKR’s defeat. KKR have the likes of Piyush Chawla & Kuldeep Yadav have all the ability in the world but the other options took a beating. Lockie Ferguson has gone for plenty. His economy-rate this year has been a colossal 10.76. Prasidh Krishna has bowled fast but the wickets column has hit a drought.

Andre Russell has been the star performer this year. He’s hit 29 sixes only after 7 games. Last year, he hit the most sixes for KKR. The tally then was 31 for the entire season. We’ve been expecting the law of averages to chip in, but in Russell’s case, the exact opposite has been happening. He’s scored 45, 50*, 48*, 62, 48, 49* this year. Promote him up the order & he might plunder a double hundred. For the fantasy cricket players, he’s been an absolute hit. Can the defending champions contain Andre Rus?

Where: Eden Gardens, Kolkata

When: 14th April 2019, Sunday

Kick-Off Time: 4:00 PM IST

At the Eden Gardens, out of the 8 games played between the two teams, there’s an obvious parity. What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Well, that’s way too much physics to digest. Let’s keep things simple. CSK have won 13 times while KKR have won only 8 encounters. Who’s winning this one? When the two teams met at Chepauk, the turf there got the better of the Knights. The pitch in Kolkata is much more conducive for batting & a close game can be envisaged. Who’ll finish this contest with 2 important points? A thriller’s in-store. Watch out, bowlers.

The teams batting second have an advantage at this venue. Chasers have won 45 games while defending has always been tricky. The skipper who wins the toss will surely bowl first. How much is defendable on this wicket? 200 maybe?
