KXIP vs RCB: RCB’s performance has been dismal in all departments of the game. Hence, for RCB, the match against KXIP is more than just a game, it is their opportunity to redeem themselves and also, stay alive in this tournament.

RCB will take on the Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. The hosts are coming into this game after an unforgettable match against Mumbai Indians. KXIP put a hefty total of 197 runs; however, they failed to defend the target, courtesy – a smashing inning from Kieron Pollard.

Among both the teams, KXIP definitely looks stronger and more confident. Add to that the fact that KXIP have not lost a single game this year in their home ground. This will give the team that extra boost needed.

RCB, on the other hand, need every department to work in tandem. The team will need to stop relying solely on Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, although a lot will depend on the duo, who are yet to put up significant performances.

The Mohali pitch transitioned from being a batsmen’s paradise in the first match to a rather slow pitch in the last game. This can be attributed to the assistance the spinners are getting from the pitch. Chasing is certainly the thing to do on winning the toss. The city is flaunting high temperatures, with the temperature expected to cross the 40-Degree mark on the day of the match. The evening though, when the match is scheduled to be played, the temperature is expected to be a lot cooler.

Kings XI Punjab

Despite the dew factor, Mohali pitch has been kind to the spinners. There has been assistance for the spinners at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium. Owing to this, the Punjab team may look at roping in both Murugan Ashwin and Mujeeb Ur Rahman in the places of Hardus Viljoen and Ankit Rajpoot. The team will also see Chris Gayle out of action, owing to his twisted back. This may prompt Sam Curran to open the inning.

Probable XI: KL Rahul (WK), Sam Curran, Mayank Agarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller, Mandeep Singh, Moises Henriques, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Murugan Ashwin, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

With the inclusion of Colin, the team will flaunt a stronger batting and bowling side. Umesh Yadav might also be brought back into the side.

Probable XI: Parthiv Patel (WK), Virat Kohli (C), AB de Villiers, Marcus Stoinis, Moeen Ali, Colin de Grandhomme, Pawan Negi, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal.
