MI COMPLETE SQUAD
Six players bought by the three-time champion, and the biggest surprise of them all came in the form of Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga.
Malinga, who was a mentor for the side last season, is back in the frame as a player. Just three wickets from six matches for Kandy, while a couple of wickets in a match for Sri Lanka is not effective enough to justify his buy.
Yuvraj Singh, whose performance has been shaky for the past few years was bought in by the side for his base price of ₹1 crore. Having scored 264 runs from seven VHT matches this season, at an average of 27.71, it could just be enough to give him a chance to prove his worth in the shortest format of the game.
Although MI has roped in a couple of backup pacers for Jasprit Bumrah, it has failed to grab a wrist spinner for Mayank Markande.
