New South Wales vs South Australia | NSW vs SOU | Fantasy Cricket Preview

NSW vs SOU: After a disappointing start to their tournament, the West End Redbacks and the NSW Blues will be keen to register their first victory in the on-going Marsh One-Day Cup 2019. The New South Wales (NSW) will face South Australia in the 6th match of the tournament. The match is set to take place at the Allan Border Field, Brisbane on Thursday.

Though the tournament just started, this match is important for both the teams, considering the fact that they are both coming from defeats. Another defeat in this game might hurt their chances of progressing through the tournament. The losing team will have a herculean task of rising from a 0-2 win-loss ratio.

The Redbacks though might seek some motivation after having defeated the Blues in their pre-season practice match. Tim Cooper was the star of the match.

The Blues, on the other hand, will play the match minus the presence of international stars. Despite scoring 305 in their first game against Queensland, the Blues were handed a defeat. They will in all probability ensure that they turn the tables around this time, as they still feature a talented line-up.

PITCH REPORT

The pitch at the Allan Border Field provides a decent track for the batters. The ball comes nicely on to the bat & a run-fest is certainly on the cards. The last fixture played at this venue yielded only 453 runs but there was assistance for all three departments. Queensland chased down the target in 35.5 overs & their pacers generated bounce & lateral movement. Matthew Kuhnemann also managed a 3-for. Teams defending have won 3 out of the 5 completed games, bearing in mind, the abominable Tasmanian collapse.

PLAYING XI

NEW SOUTH WALES

Daniel Hughes, Jack Edwards, Moises Henriques, Kurtis Patterson, Nicholas Bertus, Peter Nevill(w/c), Arjun Nair, Sean Abbott, Nathan McAndrew, Mickey Edwards, Harry Conway.

PLAYER TO WATCH OUT FOR

While the team will be looking to score big again, all eyes will be on the swashbuckling batsman, Jack Edwards. The right-handed power hitter looks to be in impressive form after scoring a magnificent 84 from 103 balls in the first game. The innings also included 12 fours and 3 sixes. Well, the 19-year old young batsman is ticking all the right boxes and is turning out to be their match-winner. The youngster was also their top run-getter in the previous season(273 runs at 54.60) & has continued his good form.

Edwards moves swiftly, packs a punch & can hit the long ball. Watch out for this rockstar.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA:

Jake Weatherald, Callum Ferguson, Jake Lehmann(c), Alex Carey(w), Tom Cooper, Alex Ross, Cameron Valente, Joe Mennie, Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson, Wes Agar.

PLAYER TO WATCH OUT FOR:

Though Ferguson couldn’t really take-off in his first outing against Queensland, the player still remains to be the biggest threat to any opposition. Ferguson has got all the class in the world. Pitch it up, he’ll play a picture-perfect cover-drive, bang it in short, he’ll smash it to the point boundary. Yes! Callum Ferguson is that good. He looked in the mood to getting a big one in the 1st ODD as well.

His knock of 13 included 3 boundaries but poor shot selection led to his downfall. Ferguson smashed 328 runs at 54.66 in the last season & is the 8th highest run-maker in the Aussie list-A circuit. Watch out for this classy run-machine.
