STK vs BAR: The Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2019) is underway and there has already been some high-octane cricketing action. The 8th match of the CPL 2019 will feature St Kitts and Nevis Patriots facing against Barbados Tridents. The match is set to happen at the Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts.
THE PATRIOTS CHASE WITH APLOMB
The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have had one of the most memorable matches ever, after their glorious run-chase in their previous match against Jamaica Tallawahs. The SKN successfully chased a mammoth target of 242, which also became their opening win this season. After losing their initial two matches, the Carlos Brathwaite-led side have shown a tremendous shift in the momentum by rising up high against the Jamaican forces. After registering a win of that magnitude, the SKN will be super confident of their match against Barbados, which is also being played on their home ground.
The Barbados Tridents played their first match on Sunday, where they started their campaign on a disappointing note. They suffered a major defeat in the hands of Guyana Amazon Warriors after they were bowled out for just 133 runs while chasing a target of 181. However, with the presence of superstars like Alex Hales, Johnson Charles and JP Duminy in their batting line-up, the team will be hopeful of coming back strong in the tournament and make a mark.
The Patriots will be looking to continue the winning momentum in this game too and will look to convert it in a victory. Though Tridents have lost their previous match, it has to be noted that they had only featured in just 1 match, and no conclusion can be drawn basis that. With that being said, it is going to be yet another nail-biter with both the teams set their sight on victory.

Just like Tuesday’s match, the rain god will be kind enough yet again in this match too and will not play a spoilsport. In fact, going by the predictions, the weather looks much better than that of Tuesday, with no signs of drizzle too.
Well, there won’t be any surprises to determine what’s in store for the game with the pitch conditions. Absolutely none can forget the fireworks which were at display the past-night between Patriots and Tallawahs. The pitch played host to the 2nd highest run-chase ever in the history of T20. If the same pitch is employed for this match too, it can offer us a game which can exceed a total of 180. If a new track is chosen, we are likely to witness yet another run-fest.
AVERAGE SCORE: 180+ (For the SKN vs JT) | 200+ (On a new pitch)
Chasing teams: Won – 4, Lost – 1
It is highly unlikely that Shai Hope will return to the playing XI, after suffering a blow in the test series played against India. The Tridents will be hoping for his return soon. Sheldon Cottrell’s absence in the previous game is still unclear and he will be mostly making a comeback to the team in this match.
